The Challenge

Celia Tejada needed a private, highly polished digital platform to showcase a curated roster of global artists—both emerging and established—to executive buying and design teams at major luxury retailers like RH and Banana Republic.

The Friction: Reviewing high-end, museum-quality artwork across disparate PDFs, physical prints, and vendor catalogs made it difficult for retail buyers to evaluate narrative collections, visualize scale, or understand custom framing capabilities.

The Goal: Build a private, password-protected B2B portal that presents original artwork as complete, narrative-driven collections while providing clear visual specifications for on-demand printing, dimensions, and framing options prior to commercial release.

The UX & Information Architecture Strategy

While Celia led the overarching brand direction and artistic vision, my role was to architect the digital structure and design a friction-free user experience tailored for busy retail executives.

Secure Executive Gatekeeping:

Implemented custom password-protected client viewing portals, ensuring unreleased collections and proprietary artist portfolios remained strictly confidential for executive pitch meetings and buyer reviews.

Categorical Taxonomy & Navigation:

Structured complex art portfolios into intuitive, digestible categories—including Abstract, Landscape, Botanical, Architecture, Drawings, and Multimedia. This allowed buyers to instantly filter by visual style depending on their seasonal collection needs.

Artist Profile Architecture:

Designed dedicated artist landing pages that pair original artwork with the creator's personal narrative, giving corporate teams the background stories necessary to market the pieces to retail consumers.

Frame & Dimension Visualization:

Built a dedicated "Printing & Framing" spec section using custom Photoshop compositions. This allowed buyers to preview how individual pieces render at various dimensions and across different museum-quality frame profiles—helping them visualize scale and finished product presentation prior to selection.

Design System & Execution

To complement Celia’s high-end aesthetic, the platform needed to feel like an exclusive digital museum while functioning as an efficient on-demand catalog.

  • High-Impact Gallery Layouts: Crafted custom asset layouts and image treatments in Adobe Photoshop to ensure color accuracy, crisp brushwork detail, and uniform framing previews across all artist catalogs.

  • Turnkey Vendor Specs: Integrated detailed operational data alongside visual assets—specifying print-on-demand capabilities, museum-grade materials, and single-vendor fulfillment workflows to reassure buyers of seamless supply-chain execution.

  • Uncompromising Mobile & Desktop Polish: Optimized the private viewing portal for executive iPad reviews, laptop presentations, and high-resolution display pitch meetings.

Outcome & Industry Impact

The Arte Inmortal platform served as the central digital bridge between independent international artists and multi-billion-dollar retail catalogs.

By delivering a secure, seamless visual presentation and clear specification hierarchy, the platform facilitated successful merchant buy-ins—resulting in curated artist collections being selected, produced, and sold nationwide through Restoration Hardware, Banana Republic (BR Home), and Arhaus.
